Woteva I have found relative COT positions give a great buy signal, ie when commercials start closing out shorts and going long odds are on gold is in for a run. But regarding sell signals have used standard TA and getting a feel for sentiment. As having experienced 05/06 run from 430 to 730, realised using COT data would lead to an early sell off if gold took off for large run. My feel this year has been that commercials have been unable to engender deep break south with running of steps. Prior to 09 if gold when down 10 overnight would follow through over next week heavily to downside. This breakdown showed up heavy accumulation by those with deep pockets. Observing trading tonight appears gold has back filled and tested 1010 twice and held. Hopefully 1010 will act as support and gold can drive north, ending days of triple digit gold price.
