Farmers are probably not a market I would think for a while...

They use solar and diesel for good reason.

Solar is great for their household needs and 40k easily is enough to run most houses with white goods etc.... It is also quiet and always available. Batterys last 10 years and if they are GEL batteries, even more. Technological advances in batteries will add value to these sytems... but... they are no good for base loads such as welding.

Farmers use diesel generators for everything solar can;t do because they are relatively cheap, easy to fix, long lasting, easy to move about the farm and most importantly they run everything else (tractors, earth machinery etc) on diesel. So they are most likely to want to keep diesel for everything for simplicity and storage needs. For welding you need 8kva and to be portable around the farm. Are the fuel cells able to do that? Currently you can get an 8kva generator for 5k or so and it will run for many hours on a small amount of diesel.

So without an easy supply of gas they maybe a hard market.
