G'day Daniel, fair point re risk appetites and negative influence of NASDAQ. However there are limits to this correlation like all others.
If/when central banks raise the cash rate, this should negatively impact growth/spec stocks as the 'risk free rate' becomes higher and value assets become more appealing. This move has/is happening already.
Alas no need to despair re PTX as fundamentals will drive this (along with some technical traders from time to time) as we all know.
I've seen plenty of specs run very hot during broader market corrections previously because of the strength of their story and milestone achievement. A2M, ALU, PNV and BAL growth during 2015/16 Asian Crisis come to mind.
