Bagasas
Im a bit confused.......You say on the one hand that you are "worried about the gas glut possibility" whilst pointing out quite correctly that many of our neighbours "lack gas resources of their own" and that "if all the gas is used in place of oil, it will only about double total reserves; but if China alone starts using oil at the rate the US does that will about double total world consumption".
What this indicates to me is that total worldwide demand for oil and gas will outstrip supply quicker than new sources can be brought online and that as both conventional and non conventional resources have a finite supply the price will continue to rise over time.
It also indicates that in the much longer term civilisation will need to reengineer its self to survive on alternative energy sources alone once oil and gas has been fully depleted. This may or may not happen in our lifetimes.
The good news for CTP....Our reserves of CSG and UCG etc etc will not sit on the shelf for too long IMO.
