The vaccine doesn’t work very well in the very old (their immune system is basically as functional as the rest of their organs). The only way to really protect the old is to vaccinate the young so the young don’t infect them. This is why it is important that everyone gets vaccinated.
Of course none of the rabid antivaxxers care about anyone other themselves and they would rather see their grandmother die than get a prick from a tiny needle.
