When I describe AKD1000 to someone I use the words of the former CEO slightly rearranged.
AKD1000 is not an accelerator, though it can perform that function, it is actually a tiny computer on a 15mm x 15mm 28nm chip that can learn incrementally and improve over time.
It does not need to ever be connected to the cloud, but it can connect, however in connecting to the cloud it will only exchange the information you want it to exchange.
If some new piece of information comes to hand that you want AKD1000 to know about you can teach it this new information directly, unconnected from the cloud or any other device, using its one shot or several shot learning on the fly.
It is ultra extreme in its energy efficiency because it only processes events that are relevant to the function you have asked it to perform.
For example if you have a camera set up to notify you of an event such as a person being at the front door it expends no energy until this event occurs. In consequence it generates virtually no heat and requires no cooling.
It does not sit there like a traditional computer saying no one here yet, no one here yet, what was that a bird, no one here yet, burning energy getting hotter and hotter needing fans or other cooling thus burning even more energy to allow it not to overheat and keep saying no one here yet, over and over again until the event you are interested in that is someone at the door occurs.
Because it can perform all its functions without being connected to anything else it cannot be hacked. If it is being used in your baby monitor strangers cannot gain access.
Even when you connect to the cloud if you do it has its own cyber security system which allows it to recognise known and unknown malicious attacks and stay safe.
Finally if that is not enough it can process all the five human senses touch, taste, sight, hearing and smell if you attach it to the appropriate sensor.
What AKD1000 does is unique in all the world and protected by a suite of patents and trade secrets.
There is virtually no limit to the uses AKD1000 technology can be put to across industry including the health care and automotive industries and has even been recognised by NASA and is being used at its AMES research centre.
On top of all of this if you need it to be more powerful you can connect up to 64 AKD1000 chips together.
From a marketing point of view however you do not have to buy an AKD1000 chip as the company will licence the AKIDA technology intellectual property to you to build into your product and the design allows you to design how powerful you need it to be. AKD1000 has 80 nodes but each node is like a tiny computer so you could use just one node or you could use hundreds it is up to you and what you need to do.
It is the first step towards artificial general intelligence.
