Same story but more specific in location. The new finding is at Beverley north. Four miles locates at 10km of northwest of Beverley. The news would be more valuable if it had reported how far north the new finding is.

HEATHGATE Resources says it has discovered a major new uranium deposit north of its Beverley mine in the Flinders Ranges.

The find comes just four months before Heathgate's subsidiary, Quasar Resources, is due to begin production at Four Mile, 10km northwest of Beverley.

Yesterday, the company said it hoped to include the new discovery in ``forthcoming mine development activities'' and had lodged a mining lease application to do so.

Heathgate president David Williams said: "We are pleased to announce that successful exploration work in our tenements has revealed a significant zone of
    mineralisation in Beverley North.''

In July, Quasar and its joint venture partner, Alliance Resources, were given federal approval for the $90 million Four Mile project, which is expected to be operational by January, 2010.

The mine will be the third-largest producer of uranium in Australia, after Ranger in the Northern Territory and Olympic Dam in SA's Far North.

Uranium mined at Four Mile will be pre-processed near the site.
