That would qualify as intermittent fasting I guess - the condition endured by a 95% markdown madness stalwart who keeps getting pipped at the post by the ‘80% will do’ shopper?’
-Thus there may be short term health benefits although ultimately a challenge also to ‘Adapt or Perish’?
And those sausages sound like the deal of the century watso.
But not for sabine who has spurned sausages since -many years ago - she bought a pack of skinny beef ones in a string and dropped some into her trusty cast iron skillet expecting a savoury, if not gourmet, snack.
- When she tried to pierce the sausages with her fork (as mamma taught) they went wild in the pan and started bouncing around and exploding in a most peculiar way.
When it was over each sausage had become THREE chippolata sausages! And so thick-skinned they were immune to fork jabs and just bounced away .
Sabine is (sometimes) risk averse and decided discretion was the better part of valour in respect to sausages ever after.
But good thermoses are a different and entirely satisfying kettle of fish watso and I envy your op shop deal even though I may have more than plenty.
Happily my best pack of weekend mismatched ‘offcut’ chops was taken off my hands this morning by my neighbour which helped her and helped my fridge as well.
(My neighbour is truly my local queen of frugal gourmet (not RTC) and she wastes not a morsel.)
cheers
