What I am saying is we need to be very, very careful about our pace of transitioning, and what we transition to.

For a country the size of Australia, going full tilt with wind and solar is a recipe for financial disaster (huge transmission and storage costs from many dispersed renewable wind and solar farms). We need to have a blend of ‘old’ (but current versions of) and new technologies. HELE coal, modular nuclear (with the submarines, we’ll have the people to operate the nukes), gas, solar hydro and wind.

Following the arguments of most zealous posters on this topic, a sane person could be forgiven for thinking this was their aim and their want … coal, coal, burn more coal … if you don’t you are a dumb arse greenie moron … coal, coal, burn more coal.
