I hate the idea of 'just build a slurry pipeline to the gulf'. Simplicity is one of the big advantages that MAK has. Quality DSO at shallow enough levels for open cut with easy access to highly efficient infrastructure, there is no reinventing the wheel. Does anyone have any idea on the cost of building a port structure and the time that would take. Jeez, getting an Environmental impact statement for an area that would barely maintain an anorexic pygmy goat is taking long enough, what would they want for you to tear up the coast line and dredge the crap out of the sea floor. Forget it. It may look good on paper but it is only for wiping yourself with. Look how long it takes to upgrade a working port with a stack of room and current infrastructure like Darwin east arm.
