Nope. As with all academic circles everyone knows everyone and everyone is linked somehow - e.g., I could have several Australian universities, various overseas institutions, GA and CSIRO all claim my research.

The proponents of the original technology fit into this camp of links and it's true that CSIRO scientists have been involved from time to time on the side trying to see if and how MMI could work, especially when asked to by industry players. Also, I believe there was a student involved at one stage with a CSIRO supervisor (this might be where the CSIRO link is coming from).

And yep, total academic jealousy when someone manages to go commercial - and total academic peeve when it's believed that that technology possibly doesn't really work because the same results can be produced using other geochemical methods (and sometimes better).
