In my opinion, It would certainly contribute to maintaining the Toyota reputation as being reliable, which it has established over the years.
Just makes sense to me, like adding less moving parts. Taking the cloud out of the equation has to be the smart move, especially when safety is paramount.. And "we are only just beginning"
