I am really surprised at some of the negative comments:
- VPG had to have capital. This was known by all. If when you bought you did not contemplate a capital raising then you did not do proper research IMO
- it has done so with a low dilution effect - 25%. Some are far more.
- it has deliberately benefits existing holders - there are many companies, eg CXY for most of its life, that made proveliged offers to institutions and sophisticated holders only, leaving the retail investors out to dry. We are actually in on this
- the total effect, and MSR was one I had quite recently, will be to increased shareholder wealth. The value of the rights and the shares will I am sure exceed the close yesterday of .16
- there may be some profit taking. It will I suspect be small. I think if it sells down on the day, it will bounce within the day or a few days to 15 / 16
- institutional support can only be good, especially in the context of the upgrade to overweight
And really, how can it not be in the interests of shareholders to strenghen the financial postion of the company and do so in a way that advantages all shareholders.
If McCabe, with his just under 20%, thought this would rout the share price, would it really have happened.
Ask yourself this. Would you prefer to have not held, and sold yesterday. If the answer is yes, then complain. But I for one (and I have a largish stake - over 2 mil) am mighty glad to be in. And will buy more shares on any dips.
