I am naturally very conservative but I gotta say I am glad Andrew Forrest is running FMG not you. Being conservative doesn't mean you have to be stupid and blindly reflect conservative media opinions that are clearly wrong. Conservatives are still allowed to think.
It is so obvious the world needs to ween itself off fossil fuels. Andrew Forrest sees that and is treating it as business opportunity to make and sell hydrogen.
It is so obvious that FMG can save money in producing iron ore using lower cost solar power in the Pilbara. Andrew Forrest sees that and is treating it as a business opportunity.
It is so obvious that FMG needs to diversify its commodity base. Again rather than copying BHP and Rio Andrew sees Hydrogen as a business opportunity and is treating it as a commodity.
It is also completely obvious that FMG needs to sell a higher grade product since its 58% Fe product is lower than BHP and Rio. Instead of copying them (by upgrading to 62%) he is going to 67% Fe via the IBO project and 100% via raw steel production. And he is planning to use renewable fuel to do it.
The reason Andrew is a genius is not that he can see this stuff since it is obvious. The reason he is a genius is he saw it years before the rest of us did. He gave FMG a first mover advantage.
I am very happy with Andrew Forrests leadership. If you don't want to invest because he is too woke for you then sell. I am very conservative not the slightest bit woke and am enjoying being a shareholder.
