telstra's copper network will be obsolete within a decade...the trick for them will be negotiating the most favourable terms for govt access to this infrastructure for NBN...best outcome imo would be guaranteed spectrum to build their wireless network and a passive stake in NBN...i don't want telstra to be lumbered with maintaining NBN...wireless is definitely the biggest growth area for telco's...landline use continues shrinking...the only people using landline regularly are aging baby boomers and their parents
