SXY are in discussions about a takeover with POSCO, an Korean conglomerate.
People have been speculating about consolidation of smaller players by international and private equity (less beholden to ESG concerns) for some time. It will be interesting to see whether this unlocks a few more deals in the coming months. With LNG prices skyrocketing, and only going to become more important as China and others move away from coal, it is incredible we haven't seen more price action across gas companies in Australia.
