Funny you should mention that, as I had considered it on the basis of taking advantage of the tax loss, but ultimately it just didn't make sense when I thought it through. Selling shares at a loss to buy back in, as a LT holder, any tax loss advantage will negate itself once the SP went back up. If anything I'd be in a worse position than before as my 12m holding timeline would start all over again to minimise any future CGT.
I don't think it works as others have mentioned.
