I hold 6m shares and am very supportive of NF and the majority of the board, however, I feel that this is excessive.. It hedges them for a takeover imo. WTF has JC done for all his freebies? Can anyone point me to one thing? I almost feel that Shareholders created this issue by demanding a Chairman a few years back. However, it really is difficult to see what, if any, he has delivered by way of value to the company.
I'd be much happier with this sort of confetti being sprayed out in the form of options (even if at a reasonably low strike price). This is a seriously significant project globally, one in the DRC, and lets face it, not an easy jurisdiction to easily navigate. So I assume that the reward will be great for success, but really it appears that these guys have set the bar too low just as we arrive at the final set of hurdles. I'd like to see management rethink this REM structure before the AGM. Set the bar higher and then sure, reap the rewards. We need Management and SH's on the same runway to success....
