Perth is extremely parochial and flashy. There is a real Us versus the Rest of Australia attitude amongst West Australians. Given a chance they would likely secede from our Federation. But there is no constitutional mechanism for that to happen.

It is also the graveyard for the fortunes of many a multi millionaire/billionaire back in the 1980s and 1990s. Think of Alan Bond, Laurie Connell, Kevin Parry

Now it's dominated by billionaires Twiggy Forrest and Gina Reinhardt. So when you are in company like that and given the history of what happened during the 1980s in Perth and the rest of Australia I am not surprised that every now and then we would come across a businessman like MT who is seemingly well planned, cautious and methodical in his approach.

Seems to me he wants all his ducks lined up in a row before he "bursts onto the scene"
