    Because thermal prices spiked above US$ 300 last night. Panic move by Chinese to stop the rise. Timely move in my opinion but almost doomed to fail. Demand is rampant. supply struggling. Heaven forbid, but a huge rain event in QLD/NSW sends prices into orbit.
