OK, perhaps not major new discoveries. You are right.
But I have seen some very very good discoveries by junior gold producers that have continued to go down perhaps because the entire sector was "off" as well. But none the less if there is downward momemtum in the sector, that filters through to the stock chart, and can make good announcements a non event.
Is KAR an oiler is it?.....LOL.
