One thing to keep in mind when looking at ratios is that FRI does not recognise revenue and profit until settlement, so there can be years of hidden value. That is, expenses incurred are recognised a year or more prior to profit recognition, because the concept of WIP does not apply. Consequently, FRI's year-on-year performance is distort by spurts of settlements falling in one year or another.
