Always find these companies pushing ethically sourced minerals sickeningly smug. As if the solution to issues in the DRC is to buy ethically sourced cobalt from Europe. Its like posts on other pages highlighting terrorist attacks in the DRC. You can almost hear them salivating at the human suffering.
Not buying cobalt from the DRC literally only helps miners in rich nations. What is truly needed is proper oversight of foreign direct investment, with incentives that benefit all. Sadly it is true that the DRC is in turmoil, but I believe AVZ could be a positive step in the opposite direction.
