I guess the good thing about TA is that even if this sort of thing is going on, a good chartist can take advantage of the whole thing just as much as they can.
Although fundamental analysis has a lot of value, I think this is where FA falls short of TA because in TA the chart doesnt lie....it is what it is and is a reflection of the perceved value of a stock including all variables such as the goons that do this type of thing.
