A "competent board of directors" would NEVER do "a deal" when they don't know how much to ask. at what terms, JV split, or not... (And their reputations over a bad, rookie, hasty sell-out would follow them for the rest of their careers, all in a relatively small, closely knit industry.)

PS A mine is a big, expensive thing that takes time to find, drill, finance, repeat, drill, PFS, finance, drill, permit, finance drill, DFS... big finance, design, build... Often at a DFS stage a competent BoD will select an option to proceed for the shareholders' enrichment... So, I guess I disagree with your post.
