The corresponding line
“Net profit US$1.50/share => earnings US$1.05/share or AU$1.44”
includes a 30% tax applied to the earnings of US$1.50/share. 30% fromUS$1.50 is US$0.45 => US$1.50 – US$0.45 = US$1.05.
How did I get a figure of US$41.5 for the full cost?
As per the FY21 report we have
Sales revenue $US22.3bn
Net profit after tax US$10.3bn, so net profit before tax is US$10.3bn/70% = US$14.7bn
Full cost is $US22.3bn - $US$14.7bn = US$7.6bn
Full cost per 1 ton of IO production is US$7.6bn/182mlnt = US$41.5/t
Note, that an error of not exceeding 1-2% is in the above mentioned calculations.
One very important point that I forgot to make in my original message is that who cares what the company profit would be with the IOP at US$50-60, at this stage the IOP are far higher than the specified range, so all figures calculated with that assumption don’t make any sense as it will NEVER happen in the nearest future.
