I would hazard a guess that you have taken the word calculations as numerically speaking (mathematical algorithms), rather than the calculation of the probability of something happening based on a range of different measurements (FA and TA).

just as you don’t know the first thing about the legal system, litigation or the cost to litigate, I am happy to share the definition of “calculate”

calculate also means to determine by reasoning,
commonsense or practicalexperience , estimate, evaluate or gauge.
