I just had a look at the 3 year year chart and was delighted to see the cup handle formation take form. Undecided on what type of cup though.

In my vast experience of cups and handles I've noticed over the years that it is very important to determine if its a tea cup and handle formation or a coffee cup and handle formation. Very important indeed if you are swing trading because you have to buy up big when you notice one forming.

The tea cup and handle formation is most often followed by the finger formation. its very important also to determine if its a skinny finger or a fat one. The skinny one has obvious bumps (joints) along the leading edge which means that profit taking is on a knifes edge at the top as far as timing is concerned. I have always been a slow coach and prefer the fat finger formation because of the extra time thus lower stress levels.

The coffee cup and handle has the obvious advantages of the following 2 finger formation. Even retards will not miss out on selling out on the top of the second finger if they miss the first one.

Disclaimer: I know my cups but know hardly anything about charting.

Sorry Trt. Just having some fun on a boring day on the markets.
