I was wondering if there were any strip ratio experts here. It's not something I've paid to much mind to, other than it being low.
AVZ strip ratio is 0.55:1 (although I believe I have seen it stated as low as 0.48:1), meaning we have to mine through approx. 0.5 tonnes of waste to get to 1 tonne of ore. Correct?
PLS seems to be around 4:1 and LTR seems to be around 7:1, both waste to ore. I'm trying to not wear my rose coloured glasses too much, but this is pretty huge difference. Any drawbacks to a lower strip ratio? (In before, "It's a drawback if you like digging").
Obviously we have some pretty significant differences here, I would presume the biggest benefit to AVZ is a lower capex/tonne.
Anyone any insights anyone might have this would greatly appreciated.
