you are smart and I like your style immensely.
but the asx is no way shape or form overvalued.
the metrics applied to the broader range of equities is demonstrating fair to undervalued range. The sense of overvaluations is derived from emerging tech and clean energy creating new investment mediums and a sharp demand in commodities. This result has increased the size of the swimming pool but the fish are still similar in size.
contrary to overvalued, many stocks are yet to go past their pre-covid highs of late 2019 (bar a few high class exceptions).
the effects of newly created money will take many years to form the bubble, this was demonstrated in 08 & 87, the overvaluation was 30-40% above the trend line and it still took many years before it peaked and pulled back to the lower range of the trend. The bubble popped yes but it still only popped to what it should’ve been, and if you had the gut to ride the bubble, you still would’ve come out on top, so far this is far from the reality of today.
Current market is in trading range, yet every man and his dog is saying overvalued blah blah inflation, so the theory of overvalued is holding back the influx of new investment money. So all that money is sitting their waiting, all those hawkers that missed it last year are waiting, the billions in super and managed funds are waiting. Waiting for what exactly? The doomsday signal? Well generally when everyone is saying recession, correction blah blah it’s already happened. I I believe this to be the case today.
Whilst I tend to agree the US has some problems ahead, the asx is a totally different beast.
If you ask me today what will the XAO be in 2025, I would but my house on it going past 10,000 points, worst case 7,500 but I still win on my DRP and I still beat bonds and bank interest.
Predicting a recession or a correction, you got a 10% chance, you bet on a 10 year bull market, those odds are in your favour.
This is the master class and this is why you don’t short MGQ & you certainly do not short Tesla.
