    That analysis about the limits of Lithium production / mining is enlightening.
    couple of notes, from an amateur punter.
    If that is the case I reckon the ‘ stationary power systems’ mentioned In the article as using lithium might actually be using non- lithium ( i.e. non weight dependent) batteries, as the advantage of lithium is that it is light. There are loads of new battery technologies being cooked up that dont use lithium, but they are heavier.
    Also, lithium batteries are recyclable. Not that anyone is doing it much now, but at some point soon, those batteries will be harvested out Of old cars, rinsed off, polished up and put back into new new cars, so the amount of lithium required to be. Mined will become the top up amount over and above what is recycled, rather than the whole sum of new car production. ( cheeky note: there is an asx listed company kicking goals in this direction right now, that i wont name, but i have side bet on…i reckon this side of it is going to be huge)
