The story looks good. If you read the Mineral Comdities Summary 2009 from the USGS it is pretty "bullish" on platinum:

"The tightening of emissions standards in China, Europe, Japan, and other parts of the world is expected to lead to higher average platinum loadings on catalysts, especially in light-duty diesel vehicles, as particulate matter emissions become more closely controlled"
