Interesting to read your view there on the 1c to 50c transition …
I happened on a recent Alan Kohler ‘Eureka’ interview with Ms Chong and he broached the question of a share consolidation. Usual polished performance from Ms C but sorry can’t post the transcript or link as it’s behind a paywall.
Anyhow … she quickly and politely shut down the question as ‘market sensitive’ … which I found puzzling.
Totally aware of the ‘psychological’ effect (that you describe) of holding 100 x 5 cent shares versus 1 x $5 share … but beyond that … why would even discussion of consolidation be market sensitive?
Does anyone ever lose or gain an actual financial advantage as a result of trading halt followed by moving the decimal point?
