Well, they aren't building yet. Construction to begin after a DFS and ESIA next year sometime. Three years away for production and hopefully it works and there are no delays. The world needs all the Lithium it can get from all sources. South America LCE production expansion is notoriously lower and later than planned and in this case, DLE is a new technology which hasn't been commercially done at scale so there may be a few issues with commissioning as there is with most new methods of extraction.
A Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) covering the Kachi Project are well advanced and targeting completion in Q2, 2022.Lake is funded to the final investment decision (FID) on construction finance for Kachi, anticipated in mid-2022, followed by construction, targeting 25,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) lithium carbonate (LCE) production, with commissioning and production in 2024.
