buy twice as many shares on market as you could get by exercising the options for the same notional value, letting the options expire and recording a capital loss for tax purposes. How is this not a better play? I don’t understand your rational, “crystallising” a loss is psychological only in this instance and poor investment strategy when optimising financial returns is your goal.
