Has anyone checked with Westcott to see if he would be:

A) Comfortable recieving money off forum members
B) Comfortable calling Don Lewis again
C) Comfortable calling Don Lewis as a "Hotcopper Spokesperson"
D) Comfortable with being placed in such a position

Not that I wouldn't support the idea, but before we start putting a list of names together of who would be prepared to front up with the cash, I think we should do the right thing by Westcott and ask whether he would be comfortable with the idea.

Also, a phone call to Perth is going to cost what? I would have thought no more than $30, divided by 10 is a small $3 per person.

If this forum is serious about getting a "Spokesperson", surely it would be more beneficial to try and collect money to allow the spokesperson to attend the AGM in November.

Flights might total somewhere around $500, and you probably need to allow an extra $500 for things like meals, cabs and accomodation depending on where the person is flying from.

If there were 10 people willing to pay, it would cost $100 each, if there were 20 people willing to pay it would cost $50 each. If we got 50 people willing to pay, it would be $20 each.

Also, everyone's financial situation is different, so you could have a reccomended amount, however substaintial shareholders may be able to afford, and willing to pay a bit more, and those smaller shareholders may be able to negotiate a smaller donation.

Anyway it is just an idea, but if we are serious about getting a spokesperson, we are probably better off focusing on the AGM, rather then just a phone call.

First of all you would need to find someone who is willing to go on behalf of SDL. Second of all, paying members have to be comfortable and confident with the person they are sending.

We would also need to get an idea of how many people are seriously willing to fund it. Once we are confident we have the numbers and the funding, then the cash could be sent to a trusted member, who is responsible for collecting the money and planning the trip with the spokesperson. Paying members should also forward their email address to the trusted member.

The person attending would be required to write a comprehensive summary of the meeting, which would be circulated to paying members by email.

Anyway just a thought.
