I'm not sure that is an entirely fair assessment in this case, while I agree with your over-all philosophy. The fantasy of a revolutionary announcement and sale was all speculation on the part of posters on this forum. The company made clear there was no sale pending. As far as their last announcement about the correctable issue, I don't know that that has been found to be wrong. Rather it reads to me that they discovered, after their announcement, from their analysis of the last lots received that by changing the material slightly they were able to get a materially significant speed improvement that would provide a significant advantage in the market place and decided to suspend the original plan and make the next platform lot a test of the new material under platform conditions. They then needed to go through this with Imec to confirm they were right in their assessment and get Imec to work out what would be involved in changing over to the new material.

Memory speeds are going to be a significant issue in the very near future as the new quantum chips in development are going to require much faster memory, also the new conventional technology chips about to be released by Intel are significantly faster than the current generation so ratcheting up the speed of the memory helps future proof the tech.

My reading is that this has all happened too fast to keep the shareholders abreast of it and was too significant to allow a leak.

I do agree that the pack of engineers they are didn't market the announcement very well - this could have been presented a s something truly exciting and they could have been more attentive to steering the market speculation, but as it is the end point on which the firm is focused the day-to-day fluctuations of the market are possibly to them less important. They just matter a whole lot to we investors and traders.
