    Hi Bagasas,

You are right with your post, Biota has a strategie of developing a drug to a certain stage and then Partner it off.

That strategie is also used with LANI and since DS has done already all the hardwork and proven that LANI works and past the clinical phase 3 trials succesfully, Biota is now looking for that Partner.

I am suprised Moreld brings this up in his post as he has been a follower of Biota for some time.

Why should Biota spend money and time on the necesarry trials now, to get LANI approved in the West, when the Japanese trials have already proven the safety and the fact that this drug works???

Not only would this be against the Biota strategy of their way of bringing drugs to the market, it would also cost them a lot of money.

Money that will now be spend by the Partner who is going to buy the right to license this drug.

Another fact is that Moreld is right and that we are in the middle of an epidemic with swineflu, and this could, as PC has stated in the media, a reason that LANI becomes possible fast tracked as first defence.

In this case a Partner would not need to go thru these expensive trials but can bring Lani to the market much faster.

Lets not make abobo's post and his bitterness towards the Biota management cloud over the reality what is happening with Biota.

Trials for LANI by Biota are NOT important at this stage, but what is of UPMOST IMPORTANCE, is that they are finding the RIGHT PARTNER, and extracting the BEST POSSIBLE DEAL for LANI.

On this exercise we can start judging PC and his capabillities of running Biota, as this would be possible the most important deal he had to make so far.

But we have to except that it will not be PC his decision alone, as DS from Japan will have to come to the party for the ultimate decision.

I look forward to the LANI deal and the upfront payment which could run in a multiple of the 100 million dollars mark.
And ofcourse last but not least the royalty percentage.

My guess is that either Roche or GSK will be the one who will license LANI, just depends who gives the best deal.

And I think that most of us have already their preference who they WOULD NOT like to have as a Partner.

But at the end, the best deal will be the one, that gets the signatures.

    good luck

    jojo
