What I like about the First Nations people out in this area is the concept and relevance of time.

I liked it .. simplified its daytime or night time , days of the week.. not overly important . Seasonal considerations were though. Different times of the year affected food and water supplies . The desert mob survived for thousands of years this way , prior to white fellas rocking up..

I reckon its important that respect of local ways be adhered to. It would be arrogant to say a meeting will occur at this time . It’s complicated , there are a lot of factors important to the aboriginal people out that way. Traditions relating to the coming of age, marriage, death etc etc will impact on the ability to hold meetings . Don’t get me wrong .. they always occur , when the locals feel it is right for them. I respect this ..

I hear the locals like Carl.. so they haven’t given up..

If you ever get the chance to head up that way and spend time in a community or live there , I recommend doing it . I hope and I’m sure that the locals have negotiated a cracking deal . Money that can be spent on health , education and preserving culture ,
