I use computershare quite a bit at work to check details for clients. Link/computer are really good to go back and have a look at your history of dividends and transactions ect.
You need to go to the computer share website and click on investors and then holding balance. It will then ask you some basic questions. If you are Chess Sponsored, you put an X and then your HIN number. HIN number will come up in 'my portfolio' (in commsec) not to be confused with your account number. Then enter your postcode ect. This will show you your holding balance and any other details you need. It is pretty good.
The other thing I have just done is I rang Commsec and asked why my new CXY shares were not showing up. They told me it was done at night. Anyway - long story short the guy did a refresh and the shares are now showing in commsec. So you dont really need to go on computershare.
Poor effort by Commsec though, sounds like all the other online brokers put the shares in right away.
