Interesting comment here. If you pay your purchase on time (up to 55 days interest free) there are no fees on CC purchaser. The merchant pays a transaction fee. BNPL is not cheaper on that basis it allows you to spread over 4 equal payment cycles and suits the "buy now and defer payment mentality" of current generation. BNPL offers that deferral at minimal cost for small value (under 3k) I am waiting for a combined customer selected payment cycle to merge the 2 methods. CC companies are too invested to let the bnpl eat there lunch without retaliating. I expect some M&A activity in the space from such players.
