Blowy, You wouldn't be the first, nor the last, to underestimate the Whitsundays on yacht charters. For "inshore" waters they are treacherous.
I did a cruise on an almost complete game boat once. The bit missing was the day-couch in the main cabin so we simply bought a lot of slabs of gold and put the foam mattress on them. The big difference of course is that the skipper built it himself so things were never going to get out of control.
