High frequency trading it's not all just robots. I will often sell or buy "at market" and my contract note for the trade will often show it went through in dozens of small parcels, at around the same price, eg parcels fluctuating up and down at 2.29, 2.285, 2.28, 2.285, 2.29, etc - including centre point pricing...
