Upon initial reading of the appointment, I was surprised to see them appointing someone working in the packaging business and not in the tech business…. But became more comfortable reading down….
to be fair tho there are points to like about the appointment
1) he has experiences in managing large corporations and also his cv shows he knows the technology field well having graduated with degrees in engineering and worked in the similar industry… he seemed to have travelled to various places and have experience in a diverse field of industries
2) he is local and young, which means he will likely stay longer in the company and be more committed
3) He seems to know the existing board well and the chairman has seen him first hand managing before… this will be good in settling in
my overall impression with this appointment is codan is not chasing someone that have large ambitions and taking on excessive risks … rather they want someone that can execute the existing plans and follow a proven method and strategy that has worked so well for codan over the past 40 years….
slow and steady is the core value of codan …. This is fine with me
