Its no in OPECs interest to increase supply. Convenient the Oil shocks of the 1970s enriched the overlords that presided over oil exporting nations and a lovely windfall for Wall Street and the City, being the recipient of the extraordinary profits being managed by them. Very cosy for some.
Everyone else paid for the excesses of these creatures.
