when ur dealing with 3billion tonnes of iron ore (potentially twice this) and a LOM of probably in excess of 50 once all drilling is complete and the fact that each side of the negotiating table wants the best deal (of which is involving billions of dollars), even the finest variable and fixed changes to inputs can have major implications on final results, whether it be net profits, payback periods, having enough money to ramp up production to meet future supply etc.

i would love to be a fly on the wall to monitor these negotiations.

one thing is for certain, George Jones i would presume has done majority of playing his best hand. if this is so, expect SDL to have obtained their best outcome, even if it first it does not appear to be the best. The amount of knowledge and experience that the board has is phenomenal, i couldnt think of a better bunch of negotiators that the guys that are running the SDL show.
