You would have to buy on the 27th to be on the register on the 29th for the record date. That's why there is an ex-div/entitlement/whatever date and a record date, the ex date is 2 days earlier to allow for T+2 settlement.
Guess I'll ring the company and find out why I missed out(i didn't buy for the options and i didn't sell when i did for any reason related to them, I didn't even know about them when i bought)
