Both are clearly intermittent and at times nearly 100% of generation needs to come from something else. What is that something else for Australia? We don't have any access to nuclear, we don't have access to abundant hydro, we don't have access to geo-thermal, we don't have inter-connectors to the rest of Europe.

Baseload is a dated myth. Renewables + storage will be providing approximately 100% of electricity in Australia by 2035. This might be ideologically inconvenient for some, but that is irrelevant.
