LONDON, Sept 9 (Reuters) - The following financial services industry appointments and moves were reported on Thursday. To inform us of other job changes, please email [email protected].
** Investment bank Lehman Brothers appointed Calvert Burkhart as managing director and capital markets senior client relationship manager for Europe. Burkhard, who will be based in London, reports to Jeremy Isaacs, CEO for Europe and Asia, and to Steve Lessing, head of global senior client relationship management.
Prior to joining, Burkhart was a managing director and member of the global executive committee of Deutsche Asset Management, a unit of Deutsche Bank , a post he held since 2001.
** Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), a unit of Credit Suisse Group , hired Michael Shillaker to lead its steels coverage. Shillaker, who worked in the steels team at CSFB in 1999 and 2000, had for the past for years worked at UBS , also leading coverage of steel stocks.
At CSFB, Shillaker will lead coverage of these companies and will work on the development of coverage of the broader metals and mining sector. He joins CSFB as a director.
** Top Olympics official and former banker Spyros Kapralos will take over as chief executive of Hellenic Exchanges , owner of the Athens stock and futures market, at the end of the month, the bourse operator said. [ID:nL09366849]
** Fund firm Threadneedle Investments said Graham Kitchen, who was until recently co-head of investment at Invesco Perpetual, is joining as head of UK equities.
Kitchen will lead Threadneedle's 20-strong UK equity team, which is responsible for some 18 billion pounds ($32 billion) of assets. He will report to Michael Taylor, head of equities.
** Merrill Lynch said Lang Gibson and Katherine Lynch have joined the company to lead its collateralized debt obligation (CDO) research effort. Gibson joins from Bank of America , where he ran structured credit products research. Lynch also joins from Bank of America, having previously worked at credit ratings agency Fitch.
** London-based specialist fixed income manager BlueBay Asset Management appointed Anthony Robertson to its portfolio management team.
Robertson joins as a senior portfolio manager and will co-head the company's high-yield group alongside Gina Germano. Previoulsy he was at Putnam Investments, where he was a senior portfolio manager responsible for European high-yield portfolios.
** Macquarie Bank Ltd appointed three managing directors to its China corporate finance team.
-- Philip Wan joins from Core-Pacific Yamaichi Capital Ltd., he will particularly focus on originating and executing equity capital markets (ECM) and other transactions by Macquarie for Chinese issuers.
-- Ronald Tham joins from HSBC and will focus on Hong Kong corporates, property and infrastructure sectors.
-- Paul Chong, previously an executive director of Goldman Sachs , will focus on the media, telecom, technology and gaming/entertainment sectors in greater China and north Asia.
** SG Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB), a unit of Societe Generarle , appointed Michel Bine as managing director for its treasury activities in Asia, Japan and Australia. Bine replaces Lars Hakanson who leaves for SG CIB London.
Based in Singapore, Bine will be responsible for further developing the bank's treasury and Asian interest rate trading activities.
