great post @archer
jumped in on the back of your post....hope you don't mind.
and there is no way it can be stopped - the sanctions to access lithographic etch etc are totally pointless and have fueled the dragon to jump to quantum computing and ensure global independence and dominance in the semiconductor space
too many US firms have too much invested in China for too long to simply divest those investments, take a bottom line hit and walk away....the implications to the US economy will reverberate for years and do nothing significant to improve the situation as they see it!
the us infrastructure spend that the US firms are taking up to build plants in the US is a joke by comparison....they will not return in significant numbers for 8 to 10 yrs......imagine where china will be by then.
22,000 - mmm.....makes the US investment seem laughable ...no?....thanks Trump....you muppet!
and from the same article
its all about ignoring the main stream press and really seeing that nothing has changed - in fact US companies are investing in the Chinese sector in historically the largest numbers on record....what does that say about US protectionist policy....laughable really.
Australia backs this nonsense in open geopolitical conversations and now we are punished in ways we have never been ....from our largest trading partner ffs ....we're dumber than the US don't think Iv'e ever seen an Australian Government act with such reckless ignorance and destroy our balance of trade in such a way.......some will read this and say its crap....well ask your Australian beef farmer what the impact has been and see the answer you get....or any of the industries listed below.....more to come as well
recent release
and there is a lot more pain coming our way yet.....
Ill no doubt pull some heat for this post but people need to research history and fundamental investment theory that has tied the US business model to China since the 1970s'....40 yrs of sustained investment strategy....that's what's in play here and unfolding in front of us ....not the latest headline
all i can say is hold wbt ....its an absolute no brainer long term
